The challenge
Turn a deep but uneven football data source — dozens of statistics per player and match, with coverage that changes from match to match — into a fast mobile experience that never shows a missing value as a zero.
What we did
Designed and built the whole stack: a Python and FastAPI backend that ingests the source into PostgreSQL (schema-first, Flyway migrations), a versioned OpenAPI contract that generates the Kotlin client, and domain, data and presentation layers in Kotlin Multiplatform shared by the Android app in Jetpack Compose and the upcoming iOS app. In development, not yet public.
Results
- Contract-first API: the app's client is generated from a pinned OpenAPI version, so app and backend cannot drift apart
- Kotlin Multiplatform core (domain, data, presentation) already compiling for Android and iOS
- Pages kept on the device with SQLDelight, a home-screen widget of favourites and match sharing as an image
